Alaska's Eaglecrest Hosts Learn to Ski and Snowboard Weekend - Jan. 28 & 29
Juneau, AK- January 2012 -· The 31st Annual Learn to Ski Weekend at Eaglecrest is
January 28 & 29. This free weekend is sponsored by Mendenhall Auto Subaru and is for
youngsters in grades 3, 4, & 5 who have never skied before.
A random drawing will select the 45 winners who will receive bus transportation, ski
rentals, lift tickets, ski lessons, and lunch! Applications are available at all Juneau Public
Elementary School offices or online at www.skijuneau.com. Completed applications
must to be returned to the elementary school office or to Eaglecrest by 2:00pm on
Tuesday, January 24. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, January 25.
“It is great to see these youngsters develop their skills and their fun is contagious!” said
Jeffra Clough, Snowsports School Director. “This event is made possible by Mendenhall
Auto Subaru and we appreciate their ongoing support!”
January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard month. For more information on learning to ski

and adults are encouraged to learn from a professional instructor.
Located on Douglas Island just 12 miles from downtown, Eaglecrest is Juneau’s community owned ski area offering 4
chairlifts and over 640 acres of skiable terrain. The area includes a professionally staffed Snow Sports School, a fullservice
Rental and Repair Shop, the Eaglecrest Grill, and groomed Nordic Trails.
